De Blob

De Blob:  The futuristic structure and spacious interior are an eye-catching addition to say the least, turning The Blob into a beacon in the city. It has rapidly become a popular meeting spot for Eindhoven locals. The structure is 25 metres high, covered in glass and steel. It stands shoulder to shoulder with the ‘Philips light tower’, linking it to the Admirant.

Van Abbemuseum

Van Abbemuseum is a museum of modern and contemporary art located in central Eindhoven, Netherlands, on the east bank of the Dommel river. Established in 1936, the Abbe Museum is named after its founder, Henri van Abbe. Van Abbe was a lover of modern art and wanted to enjoy it there from Eindhoven. As of 2010, the collection of the museum houses more than 2700 works of art, of which about 1000 are on paper, are 700 paintings, and 1000 are sculptures, installations and video work.

St. Catharina kerk

Catherine Church is a Roman Catholic Church in the inner city of the Dutch city of Eindhoven, dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria. The church is located at the Catherine’s Square, at the beginning of Stratumseind and was built to replace the dilapidated medieval St. Catherine’s Church. In 1942 and 1944 the church was badly damaged by bombing. After the war, there was a restoration by architect CH Beaver. The old windows that were lost were replaced by stained-glass windows, inter alia Charles Eyck and Pieter Wiegersma. The church is since 1972 a national monument.

Stratumseind

Stratumseind, also simply called Stratum popularly (not to be confused with the district Stratum) is a street in the city of Eindhoven. The street is 225 meters long and runs from the Catharinakerk to the Dommelbrug. Stratumseind was the southern exit road to the city of Eindhoven Stratum covenant and later part of the highway to’s-Hertogenbosch with Liege covenant. Parallel to the Dommel, which formed the boundary of the city, here was the Old Stadsgracht or Molenwater, the Stratumse mill lying on the Dommel west of the bridge and was subdued at the beginning of the 20th century. Through the Stratumseind they left the city to go through the Stratumse Gate, one of the five gates has known Eindhoven. End of the 19th century, there was also a horse carriage through the streets.
